How Summer Affects Your Drains

As property owners, it is essential to look after your drainage system. This can be done in various ways, including being aware of what to not flush into your drains.

Unfortunately however, there are a few factors which could start to cause problems with your system without you realising it.

One of these is the weather, especially hot weather! You see, your drainage system primarily sits within the walls and below your property, meaning it doesn’t get to enjoy a nice breeze to cool it down. This means that during a period of consistent hot weather, your system will start to get warmer and warmer.

What can this heat do?

This constant heat can cause various types of damage. Firstly, your drain pipes could start to dry out, slowing the flow of waste/water. This can also lead on to the second, more serious problem, cracking! A dry, worn out pipe is very likely to crack under pressure, causing the water and waste to spill out into your property or around it.

This is a serious issue which causes more than just inconvenience for your home or workplace, and it needs to be solved as soon as possible.

By contacting our team here at Rapid Response Drain Care, we can find the source of the problem and have your system fixed ready for you to continue enjoying summer.
